To enhance communication and foster better relationships between the police department, the public, and the media, the Rye Police Department is pleased to announce that Detective Christopher Salguero has completed both the FBI-LEEDA Media & Public Relations Course (MPR) and the Master Public Information Officer (PIO) certification.
Salguero successfully completed the MPR course in October in Wayne, New Jersey. This four-anda-half-day seminar is designed for
public safety professionals who aim to build trust within the communities they serve. The course focuses on promoting a consistent, positive,
and ethical public image and is suitable for all public safety personnel. Topics covered include public perception and the media, media
relations, crisis communications, and social media strategies.
More recently, Salguero completed the Master PIO course in Eagle, Colorado. This advanced four-and-a-half-day seminar is designed to elevate participants from tactical media skills to strategic media and brand management. Topics include refining brand image, developing internal and external communication strategies, and crisis management planning. In addition to his full-time duties as an investigator, Salguero, alongside Lt. Michael Anfuso and other assigned officers, manages the police department’s social media presence.
The Rye Police Department remains committed to providing the highest level of training to our team, ensuring we deliver the best possible service to our community. We are excited to continue enhancing communication and transparency with all community stakeholders.
