Larchmont Farmers Market reopens

The Larchmont Farmers Market is open for business but it will look decidedly different than past iterations.

Due to the lingering effects of the coronavirus, the farmers market will be pre-order and pick-up/delivery only until further notice.  You can reserve a time slot or request delivery.

Can we get a collective sigh of relief here? Not everything moves on our desired schedule, these days it seems most things don’t.  But plant start season is upon us
and the farmers market is here to help.   There is nothing like the impatience one feels while waiting for the nights to be warm enough to put flowers in the barren planter by the front steps.   Or the jolt of joy one gets just from walking past those flowers once they are finally there. There is nothing like the excitement of deciding that, yes, this is the year we grow all our own herbs on the windowsill and then filling that strip with fragrant green sprouts.

If you are ready look for flower, herb and vegetable starts from our farms at the farmers market this weekend.  Our farmers have grown strong,  healthy plants from seed in their greenhouses to plant in their own fields and are often happy to put  the extras in pots for you to use.

Step One: Order by downloading the WhatsGood Marketplace app, then order by vendors by end of day Thursday.  Instead of coming to pick up your orders, contact SmartShop Westchester by email at order.  smartshopwc@gmail.com to have your order delivered to your home on Saturday.   There is no need to
reserve a pick up time if you book delivery with SmartShop Westchester.  Please note, this is an independent service, not operated by the farmers market or Whats-Good Marketplace.

Step Two: Pickup by registering a for market day time slot, then pick up your orders at the farmers market on Saturday.
