The Larchmont Avenue Church announced today that it will hold its annual rummage sale April 27–29 at the Larchmont Avenue Church, LAC. The hours of the LAC Rummage Sale are: Thursday, April 27, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, April 28, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, April 29, 9 a.m. to noon.
Donations will be accepted beginning Sunday, April 23 between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., through Wednesday, April 26 at noon.
This much anticipated annual event has drawn huge crowds for more than 30 years, because of its large assortment of new and gently used items at low prices. People line up early to get the best selection of clothing, jewelry, sporting goods, furniture, toys, linens, and many other items. The annual event draws bargain hunters and savvy shoppers from all over Westchester County.
The Rummage Sale is a great recycling tool. Jane Land, who has worked the Rummage Sale for many years, and chaired the event for three years, said, “It’s great seeing things get a second life with people who need them, rather than ending up in the trash.”
All this hard work pays off, not only for happy purchasers, but also for the organizations that benefit from the results of the sale.
The LAC Rummage Sale is the biggest fundraiser of the year, and this year’s proceeds will supplement the LAC Community Fund, the purpose of which is to lend support to LAC’s community outreach efforts. Some of the mission partners benefiting from this fund include the Community Resource Center, H.O.P.E, Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, Larchmont/Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center, and The Sharing Shelf.
