The Larchmont and Mamaroneck Lions Clubs, along with local businesses and administrations in both communities, carried out an eyeglass recycling campaign during the month of May. The result of the communities’ donations was more than 850 pairs of usable glasses.

These glasses will be provided to two sources who will distribute them to those in need. Mamaroneck’s Apple of Your Eyes will distribute to those in the United States and the Lions Eye Glass Recycling Center will distribute them outside the United States.
Glasses are inspected, cleaned and sorted by prescription strengths and are then packed and shipped. They will be matched to the users based on their prescription need.
The Larchmont and Mamaroneck Lions are part of The Lions Clubs International, the largest service Organization in the world that celebrated its 100th Birthday in June.
